Why Windows 8 Won’t Work for Most People

As many of you know, Windows 8 has a consumer preview out for anyone to download and try it. However, it features a new type of desktop, called Metro. Metro looks like something designed for touchscreen (and it is), but how many people actually have a touchscreen PC? This is where we think Windows 8 will loose some people – I wouldn’t prefer to use a mouse with Windows 8, and many people won’t, because of the touch-based UI. Another thing is, how many people are going to be interested in updating to a new touchscreen-based computer just to use Windows 8? Maybe some of us computer geeks, but not many. Frankly, in our opinion, Windows 8 sales wont be that big.

    • You could still use it, its just that it looks and feels more like a Touch-Based OS. It will work with a mouse too.
