The Interview seems to cause more drama every day. When hackers threatened Sony and theaters that would show the movie, the company ultimately decided to stop the release of the movie. However, it seems like Sony never gave up. Today, the company decided to release the movie to some video on demand sites, and allow some theaters to show the movie on Christmas day, which was the planned release date. The movie is also available on YouTube, or $5.99. The movie is also available on Google Play and Xbox Video.

Interview

Let’s just hope that everything goes as planned, and nobody tries to do anything crazy. This is the United States, and we shouldn’t pull movies just because we received threats from hackers.

I can’t tell you how hard it is to choose a favorite game for 2014. When it came down to it, i felt that Far Cry 4 was easily my favorite. The game has tons of things to do, and the graphics are stunning. Even on my computer that does not have a high-definition monitor, it still looks amazing. The environment feels real, and Ubisoft makes you feel like you are actually in the world of Kyrat.

I also felt that the game itself was impressively detailed. I’m not talking about the graphics here, I’m talking about the entire game itself. You can defeat your enemies in unique ways, such as using an elephant to crush them or using heavy artillery. T Even while driving an elephant (or any other vehicle) you are still able to shoot your side-arm.  These small details aren’t much, but they really add up.

However, out of everything you can do in the game, the real potential is how you decide to play. Far Cry 4 does not limit you very much – you define how missions turn out, and you can choose how to play. You can go in guns blazing, or you can turn James Bond mode on and use stealth.

You will never be bored while playing Far Cry 4. Even after defeating the main storyline, I find myself conquering fortresses, hunting animals, and exploring.

Now that i have defeated the game and started on the side quests, it occurred to me that this is one of those rare games that is actually worth $60.  If you haven’t played Far Cry 4 yet, I suggest getting a copy.

With 2015 coming up, i thought it would be a good idea to write an article that talks about what we have planned for the future. If you didn’t know, we recently relaunched about a month ago, and we have a lot to catch up on.

First of all, I have written a policy for every article that we publish on the website. Each article that we write must satisfy all rules and regulations, or else we will not publish it. Most of these rules cover small legal issues, such as providing sources for articles that need it. Another rule that I feel was important is making sure that each article has at least 300 words. I feel that this is a good number, because people want good information, but they don’t want to read a giant amount of text. I am also pushing myself to write articles every day, as long as something is going on in the technology world.

Another thing I want to work on is Traffic for the website. I’m going to tell you something most companies won’t say – We aren’t getting that many visitors now. Our average day is about 15 page views. When we were open back in 2008-2011, our average page views per day was about 300. I would like to push to at least 1,000 views a day. This would average to about 31,000 a month, and 372,000 a year. Of course, I will always produce content regardless of the amount of page views it gets.

Finally, I would like to get more people on our team. Again, I’m going to tell you something most companies wont – at the moment, TheTechDogs is a one-man company. I am the only person who writes content for the website. I will be posting on Twitter and Facebook about this soon, so keep an eye out for that. I want to give other people the opportunity to write for us, and become a part of the community.

Merry Christmas!

For a while, i noticed that Far Cry 4 was having some issues running on my PC. Every once in awhile, the game would start to stutter. It didn’t happen often, but i was constantly dialing my graphics settings down to try to stop it.

After scouring the internet, i found a really cool fix that allowed me to keep my settings high, and reduce the stuttering. Here’s what you must do:

Open your documents, folder and then open the folder “My Games”. Once opened, go into the far cry 4 folder. Inside, you will find a file called “GamerProfile.xml”. Open the file with Notepad, and look for the following:

DisableLoadingMip0 = “0”

Change the value to 1, and save the file. When you run the game again, you should notice that the stuttering has either stopped, or is not happening as often as usual. If that did not help you, you can also try setting GPUMaxBufferedFrames to 1.

Streaming solutions are becoming more popular every day. Sooner or later, we might see the death of the DVD. However, the problem with streaming solutions such as Netflix is that they require a constant connection to the internet. So, the ultimate question is: “Will Netflix ever allow its users to view movies offline?” Cliff Edwards, Netflix director of corporate communications recently stated in a TechRadar that “It will never happen.”

According to Netflix, sooner or later the world will be covered with Wi-Fi hotspots, so downloading an entire movie won’t be necessary. This does seem possible, as Time Warner Cable recently started putting public hotspots all over my town.

The days of streaming television shows and funny cat videos are here. If you don’t know what the Chromecast is, it’s a small stick that you plug into your HD television. From there, you can stream or “push” videos to your television from your phone or tablet. Today, Google has expanded the device by adding a guest mode. Now, rather that you having to tell everyone your password, they can now push videos directly to your Chromecast without logging in to your Wi-Fi connection. This feature will have to be enabled first, as it is a optional feature for users.

For a phone to be able to stream to Chromecast, it needs to have Android 4.3 jelly bean or higher. Yum, Jelly Beans.

If there was one game i played non-stop when i had a PS2, it would be Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X-2. I would stay up all night power leveling, and traveling through Spira. A while ago, this game was remastered and released with HD graphics. Today, it has been confirmed that they are working on releasing the game for the Playstation 4, sometime around Spring 2015. I haven’t heard if they will upgrade the graphics for the PS4, but most likely they won’t. The game is already transferred into high definition, and it would be silly to do a full graphics overhaul.

The official announcement was made at the Playstation Shanghai press conference today.
